True Life Communities Announces Results for Year-End Charitable Giving

San Ramon, California (PRWEB) December 21, 2011

True Life Communities put their Core Values to work this year, supporting a wide list of causes ranging from local schools and Police Activity Leagues to Veterans’ groups and Children’s Hospital Oakland. Partners in the company also take responsibility for philanthropic endeavors, some through their local Rotary Club, and others through involvement in organizations like the Success For Teens Foundation.

Among the list of groups supported by True Life Communities, MetCalf Ranch in Blythe, California, is an organization dedicated to helping men overcome addiction and make the transition to sobriety. Donald Kirby, a founding partner of True Life Communities, has organized co-sponsored car wash events, to help to raise awareness and generate donations to MetCalf Ranch. For many, the program has been a critical step toward sobriety. Recently one of the men going through the program at MetCalf Ranch spent a few minutes telling Donald his story, and how the program is helping him repair his life and re-establish his relationship with his daughter. Stories like this reaffirm the commitment the company has made to support this facility. Donald reports that the car wash events have proven very successful, adding that “It’s encouraging to see how these people are cleaning up their lives.”

Another event in which several of the partners are involved is their Rotary Club’s Wheelchair Donation. The donated chairs are sent to Mexico, providing mobility to severely handicapped economically disadvantaged individuals of all ages. Rick Vossekuil participated in the donation event this year, joining ten other members of his Rotary Club in making the bus journey to Mexico to deliver 300 wheelchairs to the needy. He remembers the experience, saying that “Delivering the chairs was a very moving experience and something I won’t soon forget. I placed an elderly woman in her new chair for the first time and we both had tears streaming down our faces.”

In his activity with the local Rotary Club Chapter, Justin Clark participated in organizing donations for the holiday season with USATogether.org, a group that provides support for veterans in need. As a member of the investor relations team, Justin notes that many of the company investors and partners are very interested in philanthropic activities and have more than one organization they like to support. According to Clark, “It’s part of giving back to our community and helping those less fortunate than ourselves. Especially in today’s difficult times, we need to find ways to support those around us. When we help others, we feed our soul and the soul of our community.”

It comes as no surprise that this commitment to charitable giving is reflected by the Managing Partner, Scott Clark: “This holiday season we’ve chosen to provide a charitable donation to the Children’s Hospital in Oakland instead of giving gifts. It’s more meaningful to everyone in these times to simply help others in whatever way we can. There is no greater gift.”

Even more significant, True Life Communities takes this approach to their day-to-day operations through their Community Relations program. Donald Kirby heads up the Community Relations team, which focuses on meaningful contributions to local communities in which the company builds. This program began at The Chanslor Place in Blythe, California. There Donald met with school administrators to introduce a new book into their curriculum, one that focused on how teens can organize their lives and set goals to help them focus on their future. The book, called Success For Teens, was embraced by the faculty and the students and has become a staple of that school district’s curriculum.

Donald Kirby has taken a similar approach to the company’s activity in Hayward, California and has introduced the book to the Hayward High School. Administrators and teachers there liked were impressed by the results seen in Blythe and decided to bring the book into their curriculum immediately. The team continues to search for ways to contribute to schools and other community organizations in ways that go beyond business economics and homebuilding.

The company is currently building five new home neighborhoods, three of which are located in the Bay Area. They are also selling homes in the Fair Oaks area of Sacramento, and in Blythe, California.

True Life Communities is a diversified real estate investment, consulting and construction firm specializing in land development and home building activities. Headquartered in San Ramon, California, the company plans to develop land and build new home neighborhoods throughout the western United States, focusing on thoughtful attention to detail to create communities of enduring value. The company is founded on a longstanding tradition of honesty and trust, and guided by a team with over 100 years of collective industry experience. True Life Communities derives its name from its dedication to building homes that embrace life’s true moments – first steps, graduations, reunions. This firmly held belief inspires their work.
